To brew or not to brew...

Crafty.

Cunning.

Sly.

Devious.

However you would like to describe it, any of the adjectives could accurately describe the way our staff and  playtesters have approached playing Brewing Shenanigans. When developing the game, we tried our best to make sure that it was easy and intuitive to play but still contained depth. We’re  happy to share that everyone who has gotten a chance to play it thus far has given it  overwhelmingly positive feedback and have always sat down for another round. One play  tester described it as “superficially simple, yet strategically deep.” After someone’s first game,  everything seems to click and they are able to take full advantage of the mechanics. With  development finished for the game, we are extremely excited to start our first Kickstarter  campaign and get official printed copies of Brewing Shenanigans out to everyone.

The setting of the game takes place in the snowy peaks of a 1927 Swiss Alps where the  community’s pride and joy, Cafe Glaum, holds a competition once per year they call the Bean  Lein. Competitors square off with one another to produce the most drinks possible in a given  time frame with limited resources. The barista who wins the competition is awarded ownership  of Cafe Glaum until a victor is declared at the next Bean Lein.

In Brewing Shenanigans, players are given six time tokens on their turn during a round to use in  tandem with their tools to craft drinks, safely invest time into their siphon, or draw shenanigan  cards and craft a clever disruption of the opponents board state. By far the most devastating of  the shenanigans abilities is to spill one of your opponents crafted drinks, forcing it back to the center row, which in turn allows it to be crafted again.

When you draw a shenanigans card you have the choice to use either the top or bottom ability.  The top being geared to improve your board state, whereas the bottom ability is more designed  to disrupt the opponent. So while a player may be able to spill your drink, they also have to  worry about you playing a card to prevent the spill or for you to just spill one of their drinks in  return! There are plenty of other abilities you should be on the lookout for in Brewing  Shenanigans.

Please keep an eye on our social media pages or this website for future public playtest event  dates for an opportunity to play Brewing Shenanigans or one of our other titles. Thanks for  tuning in.
